Florida Mining Gallery, a contemporary art gallery in Jacksonville, will have an exhibition showcasing several Jacksonville artists during Art Basel Miami Beach in early December.
Florida Mining will exhibit the works of 20 artists — including 14 from Jacksonville — in and around six renovated buildings in Miami’s Little Haiti neighborhood, a blighted area that is transitioning into a premier art district.
I’m happy to have a series of my paintings included in this exhibition.

BANKSY in N.Y - Swizz Beatz discusses
so sad, but so true these days.
Kara is a contemporary African-American artist who explores race, gender, sexuality, violence and identity in her work. Her work generally consists of room size tableaux of black cut paper silhouettes and they are really big. I really enjoy her use of silhouettes I think that its a very powerful way to get your message across by being simplistic. For being paper cut she really goes into a lot of detail with all the smooth edges they seem to have been made on the computer. The first picture has to be my favorite because it reminds me of something straight off of a Tim Burton movie. She uses a lot of symbolism and small objects in big pictures to really get her message across. The walls at the gallery are filled with these sorts of images. It is worth looking at more of her artwork.
